Saturday November 10th from 10am - 6pm

Join us for the 3rd annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day where we will be celebrating the joy of play!

We are joining hundreds of other independent toy stores across the country who will be hosting events that highlight the quality, innovative and engaging toys that we strive to bring to our local communities.
 

We will have toy demos, games, ornament making, giveaways, and holiday wish list making!

The Giving Tree will be setup beginning Saturday throughout the Christmas season. Here is how it works... Pick a card off the tree that has a child's age and a toy listed on it, we will help you find the toy, wrap it up, give you 20% off the price of the toy and see that it gets safely delivered to the child!

Salida Classic, Play Day and 2 for 1 Sale

The Salida Classic 3 Day cycling event will take place July 27th - 29th. Click on the following link for further information and a schedule of events. Salida Classic

Join us on Saturday, July 28th from noon to 3pm to make Giant Paper Flowers and to experiment with Space Sand.  This will be a fun event for children 4 and up.

On Saturday the 28th we will also have our 'Buy 2 get 1 Free' sale table set up.  We need to make room for all of the great new toys that are arriving daily!

4th of July in Salida

There is a lot of fun happening in Riverside Park this 4th of July. 

Noon- The Salida Circus will perform
1:30pm- Ark Valley Freedom Choir
2:30pm- Salida Brass
4:00pm- Parade down F street
4:30pm- Red Bandana
From noon til 3pm the Salida Recreation program will sponser games and activities in the park.

The following weekend will be Salida's annual Art Walk. Events will begin Friday the 22nd and continue through Sunday the 24th. Click on the following link for a list of venues and events... Art Walk 2012.

Kaleidoscope Toys will be displaying artwork from the Boys & Girls Club. Each canvas will be available for a minimum $10 donation with all proceeds going back to the Boys & Girls Club.

We will also be hosting a free pipe cleaner play day on Saturday the 23rd from noon to 5pm! It is sure to be fun for all ages!

Fun Events!

We would like to thank all of the wonderful grandparents that came out for 'Grandparents Appreciation Day'. We enjoyed seeing the pictures of all of the beloved grandchildren. The annual 'Touch a Truck' event is going to be on Saturday, May 19th from 11am to 1pm at the Salida Hot Springs Pool parking lot. This is a great chance for kids to explore and learn all about big trucks! As usual Memorial Day weekend is jam packed with fun events. Be sure to catch the Bluegrass festival in Riverside Park. We are getting ready to attend the ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) show in Maryland. We are excited to see all of the new toys and we will be sure to fill you in on all the exciting toy news when we get back!

Velvet Art Play Day

Join us on Saturday, May 19th from noon to 3pm to make velvet art masterpeices! This is a fun and easy craft for kids of all ages.

Grandparents Appreciation Day

Kaleidoscope Toys wants to acknowledge the importance of grandparents in a child's life. Their patience, encouragement and unconditional love create a special bond with their grandchildren. On Wednesday, May 9th we are celebrating grandparents! Show us a picture of your grandchild/ grandchildren and we will happily give you 20% off your entire purchase. We will provide light refreshments for the grandparents while they shop.

Earth Day Play Day and Sale on American Made Toys

Join us on Saturday, April 21st from noon to 3pm to make crafts from recycled materials! Use egg cartons and old magazines to make flowers and litter bugs. This is a fun way to repurpose materials you would normally recycle!

On Saturday, April 21st we will feature toys that are made in the USA! American made toys are inherently better for the environment due to the short distance they must travel from the manufacturer to the retailer thus dramatically reducing their carbon footprint. By buying American you are supporting a great cause.

Easter Eve Eggstravaganza

With any purchase on Saturday, April 7th (Easter Eve) you will be able to pick an egg from our giant basket. Eggs are filled with a variety of discount and prizes ranging from Kaleidoscope Bucks to the grand prize of a Playmobil set. We will also have prizes for the kids and they can take a picture with our Easter Bunny! The annual easter egg hunt will begin at 9:30am at the park across from the Salida court house! Join us on Saturday, February 11th from noon to 3pm to make valentines! Draw a picture of yourself to put in a fun heart shaped frame and scratch of a special message for your valentine.
